Where are we heading in talent?

We are in the immense state of having the new AI tools coupled with a global volatility in geopolitical, economic but also societal agendas.

The geopolitical agenda brings new challenges. Wars of Ukraine and lately middle east provide more highly educated talent into EU and more blue collar workers also as the refugee influx into the EU will prevail. This will have tremendous affects in the economic but also societal agendas of the EU.

In parallel we see a very volatile economy. Literally we see cycles of prosperity and poverty even in a time span of 6 to 12 months. Economy is really unpredictable. EU, US and China are near recession but not really there yet. Inflation still holds strong leading to salary and wage increases but companies are in difficulty of getting loans due to increased interest rates.

To make things worse we see a new climate crisis hitting hard and changing the way the world works. In the years to come we may see whole continents disappearing and populations moving to ameliorate the climate conditions.

So what can we advise to the younger gens of recruiters?

We are in the onset of a new world and what we will see as a prevailing factor in talent management is the need for resilience, adaptation and ethics. Those three things will be hot in both the talent managers and the talent that we will seek after.

Be resilient, be adaptive but above all be ethical. Cause ethics is a stable compass in a rather not that stable world
